“Iron Views aims to provide an indepent platform for West Ham fans all over the world to express their views on the team they love.”

— Liam Spencer, Founder

At Iron Views my role progressed quickly into managing a small team of freelancers who reported to me. I provided constructive feedback to them, ensuring content was aligned with the brand’s requirements as well as a larger marketing outreach.

This included editing all articles so they were SEO focused and optimising click-through rates. I also managed and manipulated basic HTML on the back-end of the website which was a WordPress CMS system.

I ran the social media channels, including my own secondary Twitter account. I would plan and create engaging content and copy which would run throughout the week, especially on match-days. This allowed me to introduce and execute affiliate marketing with betting partners, which I project managed from pitch to final publication.

My achievements in this time included an invitation by BBC Leicester to be interviewed for pre-match analysis, an appearance on the esteemed KUMB Podcast, being 2014 finalists at the Football Blogging Awards, being featured in the Londonist, and last but by no means least, being invited to a press match at Upton Park, organised by West Ham’s chief sponsor eToro (see the photo, it was post-match so no huge smile!).
